Renault Expands Global EV Partnerships
Renault Group is strengthening its global collaboration to boost EV production and market reach. From 2028, Renault will produce two Ford-branded EV models at its Douai plant in France using its Ampere electric platforms, with cooperation expected to extend to electric vans at Maubeuge. Meanwhile, in Brazil, it has deepened its partnership with Geely, which has taken a 26.4% stake in Renault do Brasil. The deal gives Geely access to Renault’s factories, R&D, and distribution network, while Renault will use Geely’s multi-energy GEA platform for local electrified vehicles. The São José dos Pinhais plant, operating at half capacity in 2024, will benefit from the collaboration as Renault seeks to increase its market share beyond 5.1% in 2025.
